BARCELONA—One of our favorite things about the Anker Soundcore Space One headphones is the value. For $100, you get high-res audio and decent noise cancellation in a comfortable pair of headphones. Anker announced the Soundcore Space 2 headphones at Mobile World Congress, and though it made improvements all around, the price jumps to $129.99. They may well be worth it.

Anker says the Space 2 headphones are designed for all-day comfort and extended battery life for both travel and everyday listening. This starts with soft and plush materials covering the band and earcups. I really liked the leatherette’s quality. The headphones instantly melted away as soon as I put them on, thanks to their low weight.

The Space 2 rely on 40mm drivers made from a dual-silk diaphragm with metal ceramic magnets. The company hasn’t spelled out the frequency range, but the sound is dreamy. The tracks I sampled came through with rich bass, clean highs, and full sound. If you like, you can use the revised HearID 3.0 software to customize the sound for your ears.
Anker says it’s using a new, four-stage noise-cancelling process to filter out unwanted sounds. Listening to the Space 2 headphones in a loud event space showcased just how well they do. We’re not talking Bose or Sony levels of ANC here, but the Space 2 do a respectable job of quieting the din.

Battery life should be extraordinary. Anker says the headphones will run for 50 hours with ANC on and 70 hours with ANC off. Those are some excellent numbers. A five-minute charge gives you four hours of listening time.
