Every year, it seems that an unannounced video game remaster is leaked in spectacular fashion. Last year, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered had dozens of leaks, including actual images of the game, appear ahead of launch, and this year, it seems like Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Remastered is that game.
So far, there’s been quite literally over a dozen pieces of evidence pointing towards the remaster, but we have just got another reveal, perhaps our biggest yet: an official art book has appeared on Amazon.
Assassin’s Creed Art Book Listing Appears On Amazon
For almost three years, rumours have been floating around about an Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Remaster. Since then, the game has appeared on the PEGI ratings board, been tagged as “announced” on the PlayStation Store, and the lead actor said Ubisoft threatened to sue him over dropping hints about the remaster. Amazon may have just given us our biggest hint as to when the game is, or at least was, due to release, with a new art book listing.
The listing for the Art/Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Remaster Hardcover book appears from the publisher Titan, which is also publishing other Art Books, like one for Death Stranding 2: On The Beach.
Don’t Expect The Black Flag Remake At The Next State Of Play, Insider Reports
It is “not too far off,” though.
Although the Amazon page provides limited details about the book, it suggests it is due to be released on March 24. Given earlier suggestions that the game’s release was close, there’s every possibility that March 24 was the date. That has, however, now reportedly been pushed back.
While we still wait for Ubisoft to officially reveal the game, especially in the wake of studio closures, staff lay-offs, and game cancellations, like the Prince of Persia: Sands of Time remake, some details about the Assassin’s Creed remake have surfaced. It’s reported that there will be more than a graphical overhaul, with the game ditching the modern-day segments, replacing them with the RPG elements seen in the newer Assassin’s Creed games.
With all of the uncertainty at Ubisoft, it’s now hard to tell when the remaster is coming, but at this point, it’s almost certainly a real thing. Let’s hope the company doesn’t get cold feet as it did with Prince of Persia.
