Earlier this year, Amazon revealed that Sons of Anarchy star Ryan Hurst would be playing Kratos in Amazon’s big God of War TV series, and it wasn’t an unpopular choice. He looks the part, and actually voiced Thor in God of War: Ragnarok, so he does have experience with the series. He’s no Christopher Judge, but fans were pretty optimistic about his casting.
Fast-forward just over a month, and now that sentiment appears to have shifted pretty dramatically, thanks to Amazon giving us our first look at both Kratos and Atreus in the show. To say that fans aren’t best pleased would be an understatement.
Amazon Has Given Us Our First Look At Live-Action Kratos And Atreus
Amazon shared an image of the two via various social network channels, including its Twitter account, depicting Kratos crouched next to a tree while Atreus points a bow and arrow at something off-screen. It’s very clearly supposed to be the start of God of War (2018), which has Kratos take Atreus on a hunting trip after the cremation of his wife.
