With Starsand Island, you’ll return to your childhood home and rebuild a life with all your friends years after leaving for the corporate world. Here, life is much calmer and goes by at a slower pace. You’ll get to participate in festivals and hobbies you otherwise wouldn’t have time for.
Farming is a wonderful profession, and it’s a great pass-time while you get yourself settled on the island. We’ll break down everything you need to know to get started on farming, as well as where you can get more seeds and how you can plan ahead for future seasons.
How To Unlock Farming
Farming is a practical skill that will help you with numerous other professions, like cooking, so you’ll need to find the right mentor to teach you. On Starsand Island, that mentor is Graminova. You can find him tilling his fields in town, next to the clothing shop.
Starsand Island: Bus Stop And Station Guide
Get around Starsand Island in double-quick time!
You’ll get blueprints for the tools you need to farm during the tutorial, so take a few moments to craft yourself a hoe and watering can. This will help you get started by tilling plots and watering your crops.
While weeds are an issue and can choke your crops, speak with Pastelle about raising rabbits for natural weed removal!
Where To Get Seeds
Once you begin working with Graminova to become a farmer, he’ll open the Happiness Seed Shop, where you can purchase seeds year-round. Thankfully, the seed packets themselves aren’t locked per season, so you can stock up ahead of time.
However, the crops will only grow in specific seasons. Additionally, some crops require you to have unlocked a Paddy Field or Trellis to grow properly. As you complete trials with Graminova, you’ll unlock even more seeds to plant.
Below are all the seeds you can purchase and how long they take to grow.
While most crops only produce one harvest, several crops will produce a smaller yield but multiple harvests!

Some crops, like Watermelons and Pumpkins, can mutate into giant crops when planted in a three-by-three area. You can also upgrade your watering can and hoe by purchasing new blueprints at the seed shop. Graminova offers fertilizer as well, so he’s your one-stop-shop for all things farming-related!
You may find other seeds while foraging in the wild, in which case, you can plant them to harvest wild flora.
