It’s a full-on revival if you’re a fan of either the Aliens or Predator franchises, or maybe even both. On one end, there was a brand-new show, Alien: Earth, that managed to get reviews as high up there as the original movies that started the whole dang thing.

Alien: Earth Is The Best Thing To Happen To Xenomorphs In Decades
Noah Hawley delivers a terrifying television debut for the Xenomorph in Alien: Earth.
Then, on the other end, Predator has had a resurgence via an animated film, as well as a live-action movie titled Predator: Badlands. Oh, and we can’t forget about Prey, the 2022 film that made the creatures worth taking seriously again.
If you’re in need of some nostalgia, then a 2D Terminator game was literally just released today, and it looks like the goods.
That said, when it comes to video games, unlike other 1980s and 1990s franchises that have gotten some recent love, neither Aliens nor Predator has had much to contend with. However, if new reporting from Insider Gaming is to be believed, then it appears we could be getting a new Alien game.
The only issue is it probably won’t be for a while.
After Alien Isolation, I’m Ready For Whatever Comes Next
The Alien title in question is being described as a “single-player arcade survival horror game that sees players trying to survive being aboard a decaying space station.”
Alright, so very on brand for everything Alien related. But here’s where things get interesting. You’ll be chased by Xenomorphs, as well as Spec-Ops units, and the game is being described as Alien meets Shadow of the Tomb Raider.
Whoa.
The game will have a mix of combat, puzzles and platform elements. Stealth will be a big focus, as will resource management. Enemies will apparently be very advanced, adapting to how the player proceeds. Puzzles will reportedly range from machine repair to code cracking.
As it stands, three characters will be in the game, including Aubrey, the main character who is an engineer, alongside Ryuozo, who may or may not be the antagonist, and Ripley 8. Oh, and if that last bit isn’t already cool, then wait until you read that there is hope to get Sigourney Weaver in the game.
The only unfortunate part comes with its release date, as the game is still extremely early in its development cycle, and 2028 is being seen as a good window. It is, however, in a “good place,” so that should be enough to keep fans satiated, but that 2028 window will certainly take some wind out of the sails either way.
Still, given what’s been reported, I’m fine waiting. It’s not like 2026 or 2027 won’t have enough to play as it is.
