World of Warships is turning its spotlight on the United States Navy this month. The newly released October update introduces Liberty Harbor, a limited-time event that lets players restore a miniature naval base while learning about two and a half centuries of U.S. maritime history. The patch goes live just ahead of the Navy’s official 250th anniversary on October 13.
The same update slips in a fresh Tier X Pan-Asian destroyer for Dockyard devotees and rolls out a German-themed Event Pass tied to the anniversary of Germany’s reunification. All of this arrives as the game continues its own 10-year birthday celebration, keeping the seas unusually busy heading into fall.
Liberty Harbor event highlights
- Four buildable areas: Naval Commander, Operational Command, Military Port, and Fuel Terminal, each expand through three upgrade levels.
- Combat missions across Random, Ranked, Brawl, Co-op, and Operations modes pay out Naval Base Supplies used to advance construction.
- Historical snippets unlock alongside in-game items such as a Navy 250th anniversary flag, U.S. Commander John Barry, and special permanent camouflages.
- Finishing the entire progress bar awards Tier VIII American cruiser Bridgeport and two commemorative harbor backdrops.
New Dockyard project: Lüshun B
- 35 construction phases deliver a black-hull variant of the Tier X Pan-Asian destroyer Lüshun.
- Equipped with four rapid-fire 130 mm guns, ten torpedo tubes, Heavy Repair Team, and Hydroacoustic Search.
- Lighter on maneuverability but strong in concealment, giving captains another stealth-skirmish option at top tier.
Unity, Justice, Freedom Event Pass
- Marks 35 years since German reunification on October 3.
- First progression track hands out Commander Goldelse, Black/Red/Gold permanent camo, and Iron Cross camo for F. Schultz.
- An optional second track unlocks Commander Delphius Ora-cle, Infernal camo for Tier VIII and X ships, and Tier VI battleship Prinz Eitel Friedrich.
Other October additions
- Early Access line of German Kriegsmarine cruisers.
- Return of Brawls for another competitive mini-season.
- Rare British carrier Ocean debuts in the Armory.
- Quality-of-life tweaks to Battle Chat and several smaller gameplay changes.
Since its 2015 launch, World of Warships has built a reputation for historically minded ship models and rotating event content that highlights naval milestones from around the world. The Liberty Harbor update keeps that tradition afloat while giving players a reason to brush up on both American and German history in between salvos.
