Black Desert Online Opens Its Fifth Season Server With Speedy Leveling and PEN Gear

Pearl Abyss has switched on Season V for Black Desert Online, a limited-time server that runs from 25 September to 18 December 2025. Season servers are Black Desert’s answer to fresh-start realms, letting players roll new characters that level far faster than normal and earn endgame-ready gear in a fraction of the time.

The long-running sandbox MMORPG, first released in the West in 2016, uses these seasons to keep its veteran community engaged while lowering the barrier to entry for newcomers. Season V sticks to that formula but trims some of the grind and raises experience bonuses even further. Black Desert Online remains one of the most popular new MMORPGs of the last decade, routinely averaging over 10,000 concurrent players on Steam peaking at 20,000 daily.

Season V Highlights:

• Simplified Season Pass: Objectives have been condensed so most tasks line up with regular questing and grinding. Finishing the pass rewards choices of PEN (V) boss armor and other upgrade items.
• Permanent Hot-Time Buff: Every character over level 50 on the season server gains an always-on 1,000 percent combat EXP boost, speeding the trek to level 61 and beyond.
• PEN (V) Gear Milestones: Hitting level 60 unlocks two Choose-Your-PEN boss defense gear boxes. Additional goals, such as defeating set numbers of monsters, hand out PEN Capotia accessories and materials for guaranteed PEN upgrades.
• Login Rewards Through 5 November: Daily logins drip-feed items like Cron Stones, Advice of Valks (+200) and Mythical Censers, giving both new and returning players a stockpile of enhancement tools.

Black Desert’s seasonal cadence mirrors trends across live-service MMOs that aim to re-energize player bases with clear, time-limited goals. For Pearl Abyss, it is also a way to showcase the game’s famously intricate combat and life-skill systems without asking newcomers to spend weeks catching up.
