Hideo Kojima wants to be the first director in the world to scan a real-life ghost into a video game.
Talking tongue-in-cheek in the aftermath of Kojima Productions’ recent 10th anniversary livestream, he noted that his plan is to travel all around the world, scanning scary locations into his upcoming horror OD.
And as part of the process, he hopes to go on a ghost hunt.
“I want to scan a ghost for the first time and I want to get an award for that,” he joked.
Kojima went on to point out that he was actually able to record a “crackling” sound in the company’s studio, which he ended up using in the trailer starring actress Sophia Lillis.
Perhaps that was a ghost, too?
To be fair, the Death Stranding creator’s career is riddled with firsts, but if he can track down a real-life ghost to add to the game, then he may well be worthy of his award. Good luck in your search, Kojima-san.
