Microsoft has confirmed that it’s going to have another think about its stance on first-party Xbox games being ported to other platforms, as new lead Asha Sharma looks to improve the Xbox brand. However, for those titles it’s already put on PS5, they’re often considered a success.
The latest one is Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2, which was ported to PS5 in an Enhanced edition last year. Ninja Theory has reported in its latest financial statements (first link dated 10th May) a profit of £5 million and the “successful release of Hellblade II on PlayStation 5”. It’s now turning its attention to “future project work”, meaning more Ninja Theory games are on the way.
Hard sales numbers weren’t shared, however.
Much of the talk surrounding the success Microsoft has experienced porting its first-party projects to PS5 has focused on Forza Horizon 5, as the PlayStation version added more than five million purchases to its sales total. It’s also got Forza Horizon 6 coming to PS5, though the port isn’t arriving day and date with the Xbox Series X|S and PC versions this month. It’s due out for PS5 later in 2026.
