The sequel to Bandai Namco’s anime soccer game Captain Tsubasa 2: World Fighters will strike PS5 weeks after the World Cup concludes, with a 28th August release date announced.
Pre-orders will include kits for the 2026 Japanese national team and World Youth jersey. You’ll also unlock early access to the Brazil youth team and a couple of extra audio tracks.
The previous Captain Tsubasa game launched on the PS4 in 2020, but Bandai Namco is promising improved gameplay here.
The press release says:
“Action on the field has been enhanced with powerful new super moves that intensify every action, from passing to blocking. The updated system adds more strategy, especially in goalkeeper versus shooter duels featuring spectacular super shots and blocks from the original series characters.”
In addition to 22 national teams and over 110 playable footballers, you’ll also find a Story Mode supervised by original manga creator, Yoichi Takahashi.
