MOUSE: P.I. for Hire is selling better than publisher PlayStack expected it to, with 730,000 copies sold since launch.
In terms of the deal the publisher holds with developer Fumi, the success has allowed it to recoup all its “milestone payments, publishing, and marketing costs” already. The sales are split 50-50 between consoles and PC, and three million people have the game on their wishlist, indicating sales could continue to grow.
As a result of the title’s success, PlayStack has been able to increase its revenue projections for fiscal year 2026.
CEO Benn Skender said the projection increase reflects the confidence the firm has in Mouse: P.I. for Hire sustaining its sales on the back of last month’s launch. “The continued performance of MOUSE: P.I. For Hire has been really pleasing and reflects the strength of the IP, the quality and persistence of effort from all teams, and the depth of player and social engagement we are seeing across every platform.”
This highlights another indie title experiencing success in 2026, with mountain climbing simulator Cairn having similar success at the start of the year.
