While it just missed the usual weekend slot the developer has been working to, Pearl Abyss has this morning rolled out one more Crimson Desert patch on PS5. It’s available to download now, updates the game to version number 1.06, and adds more mounts and a new Extraction feature.
Having installed the patch, you will be able to use the following as a mount: bears, boars, wolves, deer, mountain goats, kuku birds, iguanas, raptors, camels, lions, and tigers. A new “Special Mounts” inventory tab supports the addition, and you can tame the animals by subduing and feeding them.
Then there is the Extraction feature, which refunds you some of the materials used when refining equipment. It will be added to the menus accessed at smithies throughout the open world, and it “can be performed for a single refinement level or all the way back to the base refinement level, which is the equipment’s refinement level when it was first acquired”.
More minor additions in update 1.06 include new unarmed combat skills for Oongka, sword sheaths, a Sigil of Valor that makes your pet dogs attack enemies, and there’s now a Claw Machine at the Laughing Marionette.
With this patch now live, Pearl Abyss has already delivered on the promises it made regarding post-launch support in April. By the end of June, it said it wanted boss fight replays, Re-Blockading, difficulty options, new skills, and more to be in the game. It’s now 11th May 2026 and all that stuff is now in the open worlder.
