The PS Store has its Deals tab back on PS5 roughly 12 hours later, and it confirms the next sale, the Next Level Savings promo, will begin on 13th May 2026.
It seems like the Deals tab disappeared today simply because, well, it didn’t have any deals to offer. So, now we know to expect a fresh set of PS5, PS4 game discounts on Wednesday next week.
Original Story: As has become the norm in the digital age, PlayStation’s PS Store has at least one sale going on at any given time — or, that’s typically true, at least.
A new sale was expected to begin today, 7th May 2026, but this has failed to materialise at the time of writing, which is highly unusual.
It means the PS Store currently doesn’t have some sort of sale or promotion happening, and we don’t remember the last time that was the case.
What’s more, if you go to the PS Store — browser, mobile app, or on the console itself — the Deals section has vanished.
Again, this is strange; while we’re sure there have been small breaks over the years, the PS Store has been offering select PS5 and PS4 games at a discount near constantly since, we think, the beginning of the previous generation.
If you’re like us, you’ll have a fair few games on your PS Store wishlist. It’s just plain weird to see none of them on sale.
Presumably, this is intentional, and Sony will indeed have some sort of sale in the very near future.
One thing worth bearing in mind is that the company is working on some pretty big UI changes on PS5. Those with access to the beta version of the next firmware update have confirmed as much, and we’ve seen the PS Store is due for an overhaul of sorts.
It’s possible this gap between sales is related. Perhaps the UI update is imminent, and will bring with it a revised presentation of discounted titles.
Something else we should mention is that the annual Days of Play sale isn’t far off; it usually runs from late May into June, so it may be that we’ll need to wait until then for the next major sale.
Whatever the case, there’s clearly something going down. PS Store sales have been running like clockwork for a long time, so the interruption feels unusual.
