LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight has reached an important milestone in its development, as studio TT Games has now confirmed it has gone gold.
The team made the announcement via its socials today, 30th April 2026:
As TT Games explains in a follow-up message, the phrase “going gold” essentially just means the base game is finished; it has its roots in printing the finalised software to a gold master disc that would then be replicated for the end product.
Today, it doesn’t carry quite the same meaning, but it’s still a big achievement.
The time between now and release will likely be spent squashing some pesky bugs and further optimising the game, which will all go into a day-one patch. That’s how most games launch these days, anyway.
Anytime we’ve seen Legacy of the Dark Knight, we’ve come away feeling pretty optimistic. It’s a catch-all celebration of Batman and his universe, bringing in references and influences from the movies, comics, and everything in between.
The game itself looks a bit like a plastic version of the Arkham games, giving you an explorable Gotham City, lots of gadgets, and punchy combat.
