Last year, a remaster of the first Red Dead Redemption launched on pretty much every gaming system you can think of. It was a great way to re-experience one of the best games of the Xbox 360 and PS3 era, and it came bundled with the ever-popular Undead Nighmare DLC as well. Just a pretty great package overall, but the one downside was that there was no physical edition.
Of course, physical editions aren’t a guarantee these days, at least not on launch, but a boxed version of the remaster would have been nice for both collectors and preservationists around the globe. Thankfully, it appears as though Rockstar and Take-Two are in agreement, as a physical PS5 edition of Red Dead Redemption may have been leaked by a Spanish retailer.
Red Dead Redemptions Seems To Be Getting A PS5 Physical Edition
First reported by Spanish news outlet Portal Viciados, the Spanish retailer Wakkap appears to have listed a physical PS5 copy of Red Dead Redemption, with a release date of May 7 and a price tag of just under €33. It has a store description that lines up very closely with the descriptions you can find on the PlayStation store too, suggesting it is the remaster rather than an accidental PS3 listing.

I Forgot How Unsettling Red Dead Redemption Is
To this day, Red Dead Redemption’s final chapter unnerves me more than most horror games.
At the time of writing, Rockstar has yet to even announce the existence of a PS5 physical for Red Dead Redemption, so it’s best to take this news with a slight pinch of salt, but the listing does look pretty legit. However, there doesn’t appear to be a listing for Xbox or Nintendo Switch 2, so it’s currently unconfirmed whether those systems will be getting a physical too.
It is quite funny that Red Dead Redemption has been getting the treatment that so many people wish that the game’s sequel would get. It’s been rumored for a while that Red Dead Redemption 2 would be getting a next-gen update, with the latest claim from insiders saying that it’s coming at some point this year. I guess Rockstar’s willingness to revisit the first game is a good indicator, and hopefully, a physical edition for this eventual Red Dead Redemption 2 update is in the pipeline as well.
