Earlier this year, Disney seemingly went on a delisting spree, removing several of its classic titles from Steam. Disney’s Hercules, Finding Nemo, Toy Story Mania, and several others were removed from the platform with nary a peep from Disney nor Steam, leaving many wondering whether the delistings were licensing issues, or just pure spite on Disney’s part.
Well, any hope that it was a one-off set of delistings has gone up in smoke, as it’s now been discovered that yet another batch of Disney games has been removed from purchase from Steam, and there are a couple of noticeable games included too.
Disney Has Taken Another Dozen Games Out Back
First spotted by Twitter account Wario64, it looks as though a grand total of 13 games have been delisted, ranging from newer titles to older classics. All the games that have been delisted are as follows:
- High School Musical 3
- Disney-Pixar Brave
- Bolt
- Disney’s Treasure Planet: Battle of Procyon
- Alice in Wonderland
- Chicken Little
- Disney Tangled
- G-Force
- Disney Universe
- Disney Princess: My Fairytale Adventure
- Disney Pirates at the Caribbean: At World’s End
- Star Wars Rebellion
- Star Wars Dark Forces
While the majority of these titles aren’t the most well known Disney games (I’m admittedly not mourning the loss of High School Musical 3), those Star Wars games are pretty well-liked. It also means that the classic Star Wars: Dark Forces is now pretty difficult to find on PC, with only the recent remaster now readily available on both Steam and GOG.
This new swathe of delistings now also pretty much confirms that Disney is simply taking down its lesser-known titles. There were theories that this meant a Disney collection series could be on the way, but I struggle to see a collection that houses both Star Wars: Dark Forces and G-Force. I guess this is your warning that if there’s a particularly niche Disney game on Steam that you like, go grab it before it’s gone.
