Fortnite Crew Members Will Get Fewer V-Bucks Starting In Season 3

Fortnite Crew Members Will Get Fewer V-Bucks Starting In Season 3

Epic Games increased the price of Fortnite’s in-game currency, V-Bucks, last month. Those subscribed to Fortnite Crew managed to avoid the price hikes and have continued to receive 1,000 V-Bucks a month as part of their subscription. Epic has now confirmed when those subscribers will be hit with the same price increase as everyone else.

Fortnite’s Price Hikes Have Found Its Crew Members

Reliable Fortnite leaker Hypex has shared an excerpt from an email that is presumably being sent out to Crew subscribers. “For subscriptions renewing on or after June 6, 2026, the V-Bucks grant in Fortnite Crew will change from 1,000 to 800 V-Bucks. You will continue to receive 1,000 V-Bucks until then,” the email reads.

That price change is in line with how much V-Bucks cost across the board. While the price changes are more detailed, you’re basically getting less in-game money for your real-world money. 800 V-Bucks instead of 1,000, even though you’re parting with the same amount of cash, as will be the case with Fortnite Crew’s packed-in currency starting from June 6.

Fortnite’s PS5 Is Now $200 Cheaper Than The Standard Model

Fornite’s Flowering Chaos bundle hasn’t been affected by the PS5 price hikes, and it isn’t an oversight.

If you’re wondering what the significance of that date is, June 6 is the day on which Chapter 7, Season 3, will begin. So a clean, albeit unwanted, break for Crew subscribers starting next season. On the bright side, at least you will continue to get 1,000 V-Bucks until then, while everyone else has already been hit by the price increase.

I guess you’ve also been hit by the price increase since you might have bought additional V-Bucks, but try to focus on the positives.

Fortnite Crew Doesn’t Seem Like That Great A Deal Anymore

Fortnite Crew

Fortnite Crew costs $11.99 per month and gets you the current Battle Pass along with all of Fortnite’s other passes, like the separate ones for Lego Fortnite Odyssey and its Rock Bank spinoff.

A Fortnite season typically lasts around three months. That means $36 in subscription fees, and you’re getting pretty much the same amount back. 800 V-Bucks per month, which now costs $8.99, along with the 800 V-Buck Battle Pass. So, unless my math is off or something changes between now and June 6, you will no longer be saving money by subscribing to Fortnite Crew.

The announcement that V-Bucks would be going up in price started Epic’s quick ascent to becoming public enemy number one, which is hard to do in the current gaming landscape. It was the claim that the Fortnite studio is struggling to pay the bills that really irked its player base, having made $6 billion in 2025.

Epic then doubled down by laying off 1,000 of its employees, with some important legacy developers among them. The artist who designed Jonesy, arguably Fortnite’s mascot, was among those let go. Again, it was the message that came with it that made the news even harder to swallow, as Epic CEO Tim Sweeney tweeted that people weren’t let go because of poor performance, claiming the studio was reluctantly letting go of some of its most talented people. A sentiment that left a lot of people angry, confused, and almost certainly made remaining Epic employees nervous, knowing they might be laid off with zero notice and for no good reason.
