Pro Tips And Tricks To Rank Up In Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy

Now that you’ve gotten the hang of the basics in Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy, you’re probably looking to rank up into more difficult battles, increase your level, and finish up the battle pass before the next season begins.

Luckily, there are a few tips to give you an edge as you get to higher ranks. There are a few best practices to help give you an edge in battle, securing the win for your team. Not only that, there are several things you can do to make your experience better. From completing challenges to equipping job medals to strategizing to win, here are some expert tips for when you’re playing.

Bring The Boss To You

This is a big one. Several team fights can be determined based simply on the position of the boss you’re trying to bring down. If you’re fighting in the enemy’s spawn, they’ll always have a respawn advantage.

When you kill them, they’ll respawn right next to you, and they can use that to their advantage to kill you and attack the boss right in front of them.

This advantage will win them the battle, as when you die, you’ll have to travel from across the map to even get momentum going again.

Use this to your advantage. The boss will follow the player with the most bravery. When you’re at 9,999 bravery, lure the boss to your spawn area and take advantage of that positioning.

Of course, Atomos is the exception here, as he doesn’t move.

Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy: 6 Best Team Comps

Form the perfect team to tackle your ranked battles with these team comps.

Have One Of These Equipped At All Times

A barrier or barrier breaker is a must when you start getting to higher-ranked levels. You’ll see that everyone at higher levels will be able to block or break almost any move you throw against them because everyone has a barrier of some sort.

It’s a must, and it’s difficult because you only have five slots available, but one of them needs to be for a barrier, barrier breaker, or a heal.

If you’ve got the UR Selphie/Wall, it’s the perfect barrier and should be a permanent staple in your rotation. If not, level up the SR move Barrier.

Since everyone has a barrier, you’ll want to have a barrier breaker. You’ll catch most enemies off guard, and prevent yourself from wasting all your cooldowns on an enemy that won’t take any damage. SR Earth Breaker is your option here.

Whichever you can afford to equip is up to you. If you’re playing with friends, coordinate who will bring which ability.

Having a healing option is a good idea as well. SR Heal will help yourself and your allies, so having it at least one person on the team feels like a must.

Pay Attention To Positioning

A huge part of playing is positioning, not only for yourself but for your team. Positioning the boss is important, but so is checking where everyone is before doing something.

This goes for Zidane or Krile, who are sharing BP. Ensure you’re not giving BP to an out-of-position ally who will just feed the enemy team.

Good positioning also means you can avoid Kain’s Dragoon’s Pride and Rinoa’s Meteor by paying attention to where you are when they’re using these abilities, and getting out of the red circle on the ground.

For anyone afraid of the devastation of the one-shot kill UR Ace/Fire RF, positioning here is a big deal, because you can actually avoid the devastating damage with good positioning and moving out of the way.

You can completely side-step a devastating attack if you’re paying attention. Use their start-up animation to dash out of the way. Or use your own UR ability for some invincibility frames to then try to escape.

Paying attention to your team’s positioning also means you’ll be ready to Burst Chain with them when they attack the boss, quickly draining its health.

Don’t Frivolously Break Crystals

There’s an easy urge to just rush to the first crystal you see and break it for BP. While that’s important, and it’s the point of the game, you’ll need to be aware of which crystals to break and whether it’s worth investing in them.

Understanding when to break crystals to share BP and when to go after the enemy instead is a big part of the game. If you have a character like Zidane or Krile on your team, don’t break the crystals they need if they’re sharing BP.

Usually, a Krile on your team will want to camp the crystal at your spawn, and if you’re just destroying it, you’re actively hurting their strategy.

Farming crystals near the endgame that are far away from the boss is detrimental to the team’s current objective when the game is winding down.

You should focus on preventing the enemy team from finishing off the boss, repositioning the boss, and breaking crystals near you when necessary.

Check Your Character Comparisons

One thing you’ll want to do is check your own stats if you want to get better. Your character comparison screen will showcase your usage rate, your win rate, the bravery you’ve obtained, and the boss damage you’ve done.

These stats can help you determine what’s working, allowing you to choose the best character and opportunities to level up with. Boss damage, bravery obtained, and your win rate are factors you want to consider here, helping you choose which setup actually works best for you.

Use Growth Eggs And Support Skills For Specific Increases

Enhancing an ability in Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy.

This one seems simple, but it’s worth mentioning. You don’t want to just auto-place your support skills or just increase your character-specific UR abilities. You want to focus on the UR abilities you’re actually using. You may not be using both UR abilities, so wasting Growth Eggs there isn’t a great idea.

The same goes for your support skills. While stacking extra UR options is always good, it’s even more important to stack what you need. If you’re a melee character, stack for ATK rather than overall, for example. If you’re a support, you may want more HP or DEF stacked instead.

Watch Your Replays

Another quick way to get better is to watch your replays and adjust your gameplay based on what you’re doing in the match. Look at how you perform in the match, and compare it to others also playing your character.

You can watch how others play, and make decisions to help adjust your own gameplay. Check out how the enemy team may have beaten you, what you could have done differently, what abilities others are using, and more. The best players always evaluate their gameplay for improvement opportunities.

Do Your Challenges

A great way to improve is to focus on completing the challenge modes for each character. Not only will you get Growth Eggs and Job Medals you’ll want to equip that are character-specific, but you’ll have a better understanding of how they work overall.

On top of this, the Job Medals will help increase your character’s stats. You’ll get aesthetic items and songs as well, but mostly learning the character and obtaining Job Medals is a large part of why you want to complete these challenges.
