Neil Druckmann has been dropping hints about a possible new The Last of Us game since September last year. He mentioned that there are “ongoing conversations” about The Last of Us at the studio. More recently, he shared some original concept art for TLOU and mentioned that there are a “few stops that remain on the road ahead.”
Of course, none of this is confirmation that a new game in the series is on the way, but the evidence appears to be piling up. Former The Last of Us Online lead, Vinit Agarwal, recently appeared on the Lance E. Lee Podcast from Tokyo, where he dropped another hint about a possible new Last of Us game.
There Might Be More Evidence Of Another TLOU Game
As spotted by GamesRadar, Agarwal spoke about his experience working as the game director on the eventually cancelled The Last Of Us Online. He said that he remained at the studio for around a year after that, where he was made the game director of another project. “They made me a game director on one of their future games,” he said. “I stayed with that for a year, and so after a year I decided, ‘No, I’m going to take the plunge, I’m going to take the risk.'”

I Will Bet On There Being More Of The Last Of Us
Naughty Dog loves surprises.
The kicker here is the “future game” Agarwal mentioned. We already know that Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet will be headed up by Neil Druckmann, and Afarwal even calls it “Neil’s game” during the interview. Of course, this project could turn out to be something else, but with how much Druckmann has been talking about another TLOU game, this “future game” talk only adds to the pile of evidence.
Elsewhere in the interview, Agarwal reflected on the work he did for The Last of Us Online before it got cancelled. He said the game was nearly 80 percent finished before Naughty Dog decided to cancel it due to budget and time constraints.
