The Boys season five will release in just over a week, heralding the beginning of the end for the show that flipped the superhero genre on its head. At a time when we were all jaded by Marvel and DC movies, the Amazon series gave us a more diabolical version of it where most, if not all, superheroes were as*****s. Not to mention the blood and gore.
Speaking of blood and gore, a show with so much death and violence can’t really just end with the good guys winning and the bad guys losing, right? Considering how the odds are stacked against Butcher, Hughie and the gang, some fan favourites are sure to die. Even Hughie actor, Jack Quaid is asking fans to prepare for it.
Remembering The Boys
Quaid gave fans a clear warning of what to expect in the final season of The Boys on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon (thanks, GamesRadar). When asked if the show will have a fairytale ending, Quaid couldn’t help but laugh, “No, in no way,” he said. “No, it’s The Boys. It’s not going to be a fairytale ending in any regard. This is the final season, and we really do mean that. There are characters, I won’t say who, who meet their end, and it’s crazy, it’s really, really nuts.”

The Boys Is Finally Getting A Video Game, And It Looks Like An Old School PS2 Tie-In
The Boys are making their first steps into video games with the most PS2 tie-in to ever tie-in since the ’00s.
Quaid reflected on the show coming to an end, and what it means to him after all these years. “And it was emotional,” he said. “I’m covered in blood a lot on the show, and it was so weird to be covered in blood and various goos, and then to just like also be emotional about that, where I’m like, ‘I’m really gonna miss this,’ and I’m just drenched head to toe. But, it’s just been the honor of my life, I truly love the show and everyone involved.”
It’s not like we didn’t already know that things were going to get gruesome. In fact, one of the shots from the season five trailer shows Homelander beating someone to a bloody pulp, and fans think it’s his own son, Ryan.
