If there’s one thing PlayStation fans love dearly, it’s a good Platinum trophy. However, not every Platinum is created equal, and some are easier than others, while some don’t have a Platinum at all, making the challenge of Trophy hunting that much more fun.
It’s also why community-driven leaderboards have worked to stop counting shovelware titles from overall metrics, and why players are often vehemently against AI slop titles, even if their developers think they’re not doing anything wrong.
While many have thought of FromSoftware titles as being the hardest Platinums to obtain, they’re only mostly correct. Really, some of the hardest Trophies around often involve multiplayer requirements, and they’re doubly worse when those games have barren servers or are also difficult.

After Ninja Gaiden 2, We Need A Remake Of Ninja Gaiden Black
Ninja Gaiden Black still holds up, but it could benefit greatly from some small tweaks and a fresh new look.
Such is the case with Team Ninja’s PlayStation Vita port of Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2. However, one proud Trophy hunter, Tqvry, can now say they’ve slain the beast. Literally.
If You’re Able To Get An Impossible Platinum, You Deserve A Special Icon Or Something
As first spotted by Push Square, Tqvry can now say that they are the only person to have Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 on Vita. The Platinum requires that a player “Successfully complete all missions on Turbo difficulty.”
Normally, that would be pretty easy for a seasoned Ninja Gaiden player. But where things get difficult is in the fact that there are co-op Trophies, and the servers don’t exist anymore. So, instead, you’re paired with an AI companion, and calling the AI companion useless might actually be a compliment.
It also doesn’t help, as Push Square noted, that the PS Vita chugs and beyond having to deal with a braindead AI, you’re also fighting the strengths of the system itself.
No mind, Tqvry made it happen, and they have an entire livestream to prove it. Given how long the game has been around, and just how hard that Platinum is, they might be able to claim that they are the only one to ever do it. That said, someone could be inspired to challenge for the crown, but just one look at the livestream, and it’s proof enough to stay away.
“Absolutely massive congratulations on this, hardest legit platinum on PSN without a doubt now,” one user wrote in response.
If you’re feeling particularly adventurous, Ninja Gaiden 2 got the Black treatment last year, and it also has a Platinum. A more modest 652 players got that one.
