There’s no limit to the number of new races, classes, subclasses, weapons, or armor you can now get in Baldur’s Gate 3 thanks to mods. While most of these are simple asset swaps, some require a lot of thought, work, and balancing. Adding a new class to a game as beloved as Baldur’s Gate 3 is no joke, especially when it’s among the most highly requested classes.
The Gunslinger class has become quite popular with D&D fans, even more so after Matthew Mercer’s homebrew build for Critical Role. Despite fans asking about the class, it seems it was never in Larian’s plans for Baldur’s Gate 3. However, it’s finally available thanks to Ahdarugo’s The Gunslinger Class mod.
Bringing A Gun To A Sword Fight
“Risk runs in a Gunslinger’s blood,” says the description. “These bold renegades defy tradition, carving their own path with dangerous firearms, surviving through sharp wits, split-second timing, and a reliance on luck.”
Not only does this class add new abilities, but it also comes with several firearms for your Gunslinger. A revolver, a rifle, a shotgun, a sniper, and a musket are all included with it, each with various attacks. As for the abilities, they are tailor-made for the Gunslinger class.
As you’d expect, the Gunslinger is proficient with firearms, and the Summon Firearms ability lets you conjure up to ten guns into your inventory. As you level up, you’ll gain abilities like Critical Shot, which reduces the number needed to land a crit, Bite The Bullet, which gives you additional hit points, and others that work in tandem with your firearms.
The Gunslinger isn’t really a classic D&D class, so it’s understandable why it wasn’t included in Baldur’s Gate 3, but it has since gained popularity, especially after Mage Hand’s Valda’s Spire of Secrets D&D 5e expansion. This BG3 Gunslinger class is based on the expansion’s build.
So, if you’re tired of playing the same old classes the game has to offer, why not try bringing a gun to a knife fight?
