It’s shaping up to be a historic year for Japanese publisher Capcom, with both Resident Evil Requiem and Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection attracting outstanding reviews.
Next up is Pragmata, which based on what we’ve played is going to be among the best shooters of the year. And then, of course, there’s Onimusha: Way of the Sword, which is also due out in 2026.
We saw more gameplay of this impending all-timer during last week’s Capcom Showcase, but there’s still no word on a firm release date.
The publisher has heard your concerns, and is insisting there’s nothing to worry about.
The game is still very much in the final stages of development:
“Thank you all so much for all the positive comments you’ve shared for last week’s Capcom Spotlight. We’re glad to see so many of you say you can’t wait to know when the game will be released! The whole team is now working on the final stages of development. Please look forward to our next announcement!”
So it sounds like the next time Capcom shows the game, it’ll come with a release date attached.
We imagine this will be announced at some point in the summer, ahead of an autumn release date.
Obviously, the release of GTA 6 in November has everyone running scared, so it’ll be interesting to see when this slots in.
Our guess? August. But when do you think it will drop?
