Nintendo has confirmed that Pokemon Pokopia‘s first update will focus on fixing several bugs and progression issues, with a list of known problems being shared on the game’s website.
It’s not like Pokemon games ever have a tough time becoming massive hits, but it seems to have come especially easy for Pokopia since it launched last week. The strange combination of Ditto, Animal Crossing, Viva Pinata, and Dragon Quest Builders has already proven to be a big hit, and one of the year’s biggest surprises so far.
That being said, it’s not like Pokopia is a flawless game without any issues. Players have reported a number of bugs and progression blockers that are keeping them from getting the most out of Pokopia, but it appears that Nintendo is already on the case and planning to fix some of the biggest examples in the game’s upcoming first update.
Pokopia’s First Update Is Focused On Fixing Bugs
And No, I Don’t Mean Caterpie
As pointed out by IGN, Nintendo recently confirmed that the first update that’s coming to Pokopia will be focused on addressing some of the game’s bugs and softlocks. Over on the Pokopia website, a blog post shared some of the known issues with the game that are seemingly going to be the focus of the update.
For example, the website mentions several instances where requests are difficult to progress if you do certain things, or because a Pokemon has moved in a specific way. One key instance is in the “Gloomy Seaside Town” request, which becomes “impossible to progress” if you follow certain steps in the wrong order.
A smaller example of a bug that’s being fixed is that Spinarak has the wrong type in the game’s Pokedex.
Those annoying issues will hopefully be fixed in the game’s first proper update that’s planned for “the near future”. No set date was given for the update just yet, but it sounds like it’s not too far off. For now, no big content updates appear to be in the works for Pokopia, but there is the “More Spores for Hoppip” in-game event to enjoy if you’re desperate for more Ditto.
I Wish All The Pokemon In Pokopia Weren’t My Best Friends
Having all of my Pokemon dote on me is adorable, but Pokopia also has a major friction problem.
