In Where Winds Meet, Oddities are unusual collectibles scattered throughout the vast, open world of the game. Hidden among ruins, buried in sand, or waiting just out of reach, each oddity adds to your collection and, for completionists, they are integral to maxing out your exploration of the different regions.
Oddities also give you rewards in the form of coins and XP when collected, making them a helpful pitstop or side mission during quests. The Jade Gate Pass region of Hexi has three types of oddities for you to collect.
Udumbara Flower Oddity Locations
The Udumbara Flower oddity is a glowing purple flower found on the sand, on the side of buildings or ruins, and on top of golden-leafed trees. After finding this oddity, you’ll need to figure out which one is real and which ones are fake. This little puzzle will happen whenever you approach one of the flowers.
Keep an eye out for the glowing golden tendrils of the flower and listen for the deep groaning noise, which gets loud as you get closer. There are 15 Udumbara Flowers in the Jade Gate Pass area of Hexi.

Shadowfin Oddity Locations
Shadowfins can be located in the sand, and you’ll know you’ve found one when you see the broken shards of stone, a wispy golden rail, and the purple-blue floating entity. The Shadowfin will circle the broken stone, and, as you approach, you’ll get the prompt to use ‘G’ to repair the stone.
When the Shadowfin approaches the stone and is about to make contact with it, hold ‘G’ to use your Tai Chi and repair the stone. This will cause the Shadowfin to collide with the rock, and then you’ll be able to collect the oddity itself. There are 16 Shadowfin oddities in the Jade Gate Pass region of Hexi.
Keep an eye out for Shadowfins in the sand and especially around the Milky Way path.
Apsara Hare Oddity Locations
The cutest of the oddities in the Jade Gate Pass, the Apsara Hare is a mythical, musical little rabbit who floats in the air above buildings and ruins. It plays a pleasant tune and holds a little guitar-type instrument. When you approach the hare, it will speed off, and you’ll have to catch it to collect the oddity.
When the hare flies off, green wispy circles will appear behind it, and jumping into these circles will propel you up towards the next one. Repeat the motion to reach the hare. There are 16 Apsara Hare oddities in the Jade Gate Pass region of Hexi.
Follow the sound of the hare’s music to find it floating up off the ground.
