Resident Evil Requiem puts an interesting spin on zombies, giving them routines that mirror their past lives. It adds a unique layer of strategy to exploring the Rhodes Hill Care Center, as you can manipulate and distract the infected to maneuver around the cramped hallways more easily. There’s even an achievement for making one zombie attack another, saving you precious ammo, but you can take it even further than that.
As noted by @luscielia, if you lure the chef upstairs into the office above the kitchen area, you can use the nearby blind zombie to kill him. All you need to do is throw a bottle at his feet. Sure, you could just use a Hemolytic Injector — it’s arguably less effort — but it’s incredible to see just how strong this random zombie is considering that it usually takes a few shots of the Requiem to take down this Kitchen Nightmare. Frankly, I never would’ve imagined the IV stand being more effective.
Chunk, Meet IV Stand. IV Stand, Meet Chunk.
Then again, the chef is peanuts compared to Chunk, who the blind zombie can also take down. Grace really should’ve picked up that IV stand, huh? If you lure the zombie over to the doorway when Chunk is reaching in and grumbling at you, he’ll take a few swings and kill him in one shot, even on Insanity — typically, to pull this off, you either need to unload the Requiem in his face, or stab him in the back with three Hemolytic Injectors.
Chunk can stun and knock the blind zombie over, so it’s a bit of a gamble.
It looks like the blind zombie might have some damage scaling issues, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Capcom patched this out considering how much it trivializes the minibosses roaming the care center, but for future playthroughs, it’s a solid way to save resources and get through the East and West Wing without the worry of running into these two behemoths.
Now, we just need to find a way to bring the blind zombie all the way down into the basement so that he can wipe out the Girl — it would be a godsend for future Insanity runs.
