Arc Raiders brings the extraction genre to a more mainstream audience, with an experience that’s got a tremendous amount of depth to it, but is still easy to pick up and play. This is particularly true when compared to something like Escape From Tarkov, which can be an especially difficult experience for new players.
Arc Raiders can be played solo, and while that’s a perfectly viable way to play, you don’t have to brave the dangers alone. You can bring friends (or complete strangers) with you, and if you do, they’ll likely give you a much higher chance of getting back home alive.
How To Play With Friends
While you’re on the main menu, scroll up to/select the plus symbol above the Fill Squad option. This will bring you to a menu allowing you to invite friends, check players that you’ve recently interacted with, take a look at friend requests, and manage your block list.

Is There Crossplay?
Which brings us to crossplay: Arc Raiders does have crossplay, allowing you to play with or against players from any platform that the game is available on.
You can turn this off in the settings under Gameplay > Online, as well as manually change your server region.
How Many Players Can Be In A Party?
You can have anywhere from one to three players in a squad, but it’s important to note that there are only two varieties of matches that the game will load you into:
- Queuing solo will usually match you against other solo players.
- Queuing in a group of two or three will match you against others queued in a group. This means that duos will be matched against trios, at least on occasion.
You can allow the game to automatically fill your squad if you choose, which will fill your group with random other players to play with.
