The desert biome of Where Winds Meet features a harsh landscape of coarse, violent sandstorms and large enemies who’ve adapted well to their surroundings. Large bird foes swoop from the sky and attack in swarms, while others, like the Skeletal Bloom, can hide under sand, ready to strike when the time is right.
The sandy area is also home to new animals, NPCs, and flora and fauna, such as the Rainbone Flower, which has a fierce connection to the Skeletal Bloom. A flower which, unfortunately, can hurt you just as easily.
How To Locate The Rainbone Flower
Rainbone Flowers are located at points of interest in the desert region. Camp areas with Utuk Raptors and climbable trees, which contain blue, sparkly loot. There are also large areas covered in Rainbone Flowers in different villages, which give the impression of a farm. The flowers really are scattered around the landscape at different outposts and landmarks.

Attacks From A Rainbone Flower
When approaching Rainbone Flowers, you will soon notice that some are easily picked and others will momentarily lash out and attack. The attack doesn’t damage your HP too much, but if you come across a lot of this type of flower, then you’ll easily take many tiny hits to your health. These are a special variation of the flower that won’t leave anything for you to pick up after they disappear.
You can tell if the Rainbone Flower is the type that attacks by its size and the size of its spines. If you want to avoid their attacks, jump away when it begins to move, or get ready for the quick onscreen prompt to appear so you can defend yourself.
The smaller Rainbone Flowers are the ones you can pick and keep; however, these also have their own danger. Not all of the small flowers are actually flowers; some are Skeletal Blooms in hiding, and you won’t know if this is the case until the flower begins to move and the enemy bursts from under the ground.
The Skeletal Bloom won’t instantly appear from underground; you have time to get away if you’d rather skip the fight altogether.
How To Fight A Skeletal Bloom
Skeletal Blooms can be found wandering the desert and will attack once you get too close. However, you are almost guaranteed to come across at least one when visiting and picking flowers from a cluster of Rainbone Flowers. They appear from under the sand and will attack on sight. You can run away, but they aren’t too hard to defeat with the right technique.
Defense is key in fighting a Skeletal Bloom, as they will pounce and lash with their tails in an almost cat-like manner. Their tail whips will cause fire to erupt, and they can grab and throw you if they get the chance to. Be on the defensive, ready to thrust and dodge away when they spin or rear back and try to keep to their side.
Any weapon seems quite effective on a Skeletal Bloom if you’re a high enough level, but the Umbrella seems particularly efficient.
