Late last year, Konatsu Kato became a streaming star. Following her starring role as Hinako Shimizu in the critically acclaimed Silent Hill f, the actress and model took to YouTube to stream her maiden playthrough of the game. That playthrough quickly went viral: by her own admission, Kato wasn’t a gamer, and Silent Hill’s scares hit her hard. Not long after, a two-minute video of her buying a PS5 blew up.
Speaking to TheGamer ahead of Resident Evil Requiem’s launch, Grace Ashcroft actress Angela Sant’Albano suggested that she had considered streaming the game, and our chat might have given her the push.
Look Out For Angela Sant’Albano As She May Stream Her Resident Evil Requiem Playthrough
Much like Kato, Sant’Albano wasn’t much of a gamer, at least until she starred as Grace in Resident Evil Requiem. She told TheGamer that “I’ve been playing, and I really enjoy it. Talk about getting a little bit obsessed.”
I asked her then if she’d seen Kato’s streams and whether she’d consider playing through the game while the public watched her.
“I thought about it a little bit. I was a little nervous, to be honest, because I’m so bad,” she said. “I get so scared. When I first played [Resident Evil 4], my brother thought it would be really funny to film me playing it, and I’m just screaming. I forget to play because I was so afraid. Maybe I will do it, just for jokes. I don’t even know how you stream, though. Is that on Twitch? I’ll figure it out.”
Since researching for her role as Grace, Sant’Albano admitted to buying a Nintendo Switch, saying she’s played “A little bit of Animal Crossing. Of course. Mario Kart, Super Mario Bros, a bunch of Resident Evil, Zelda, What Remains of Edith Finch, Hogwarts Legacy, I had to dip into that a little bit, sorry, I know.”
Our full interview with Sant’Albano is live now, in which she talks in depth about her role as Grace, the Resident Evil fandom, and her co-star, Nick Apostolides, who plays Leon Kennedy.
