This article covers a developing story. Continue to check back with us as we will be adding more information as it becomes available.
Nintendo Directs tend to come in different shapes and sizes. There are the big first-party ones where we’re told things like what Mario and Zelda are up to, Partner Showcases like the one last month during which we were given another look at Pragmata, along with a better look at Orbitals, and then there’s the Indie World Showcase, which is what we’re here for today.
As the name implies, an Indie World Showcase focuses on nothing but games from independent studios. Whether a game is truly an indie or not is a hotly-debated topic. Nintendo tends to stick to a more traditional definition, so while I wouldn’t rule out seeing something big show up today, I’d temper those expectations.
This is only the second Indie World Showcase Nintendo has held since it launched the Switch 2, and the first aired only a little more than a month after its new console launched. I’d assume a few more independent studios have something to show for the Switch 2 at this stage, and I’m almost certain we’ll see a lot of indie games coming to the Switch even though it’s technically a last-gen console now, so let’s get into it and break down everything shown off during today’s Indie World Showcase.
Everything Revealed During The March 2026 Indie World Showcase
Denshattack
The hit indie train game comes to Switch 2 on June 17, 2026. The port will have an exclusive Nintendo skin, and you can try a demo on Switch 2 starting today.
My Little Puppy
I’m not crying, you’re crying. My Little Puppy is a game based on a real-life dog that’s all about a pup that dies and goes to heaven to visit and rescue his dad in the after life, coming to Switch May 29.
Heave Ho 2
Heave Ho is a co-op game that will have you wanting to tear each other’s hair out, and now a sequel is coming to Switch with eight new worlds to play through, playable online for the first time in the series’ history. Launching this summer.
Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault
Moonlighter is back, and it’s coming to Switch 2. More weapon types, more combos, more evetything in this follow-up to the popular indie title, coming to Switch 2 later this year.
Woodo
Woodo is a diorama puzzle game that looks like it takes place in a world where everything is made of wood, hence the name of the game. Adorable characters and more wood puns that you can shake a wooden stick at on Switch this summer.
Minishoot Adventures
The 8-bit era was filled with shoot ‘em ups, so Minishoot Adventures is bound to appeal to a certain type of gamer (spoiler: I am that type of gamer). Best of all, it’ll be available on both Switch and Switch 2 later today.
