Everyone loves a good video game secret, and the recently-released Resident Evil Requiem is chock-full of them. So much so that an entire subreddit has been dedicated to solving the game’s final puzzle, one that awards 20,000 completion points, a hefty sum that could be used for Infinite Ammo and subsequent Platinum hunting.
That said, this secret is out in the open — it’s Leon Kennedy’s phone number, as leaked via a call that Grace is having in-game.
For those looking to call Mr. Kennedy himself, assuming he isn’t busy saving the world and all, the number is 266-555-0173. Go figure, everyone under the sun is calling this fictional number, hoping that Leon is on the other side, and if not, at least some cool secret.
Unfortunately, there’s nothing to report. We tried calling the number as shown in the cutscene and were met with a “The call could not be completed as dial” error message.
Of course, that didn’t stop someone from having fun with the prospect of Leon actually answering on the other side. In our case, no one came to our homes to roundhouse kick us, but would we even share if that was the case? I think not.

Resident Evil Requiem’s Return To Raccoon City Is Almost Everything I Wanted It To Be
Capcom delivers its most nuanced combination of action and horror yet with Resident Evil Requiem.
Given how video game companies have marketed games before, including via the use of real-life phone numbers, there was a non-zero chance that there was a secret on the other side for those with eagle eyes to spot the number. That was sadly not the case and our dreams of bowling with Leon were dashed almost immediately.
These Numbers Actually Did Work At One Point
Thanks to WatchMojo, we have some evidence of at least 10 phone numbers that were previously commissioned that did work for players to try and call, including the very famous God of War phone number with an angry Kratos on the other end.
We’d be remiss if we didn’t mention the Nintendo Power Line, a staff-supported hotline that players could call into for hints and help with their Nintendo games. Arguably the coolest use of a phone number in history.
Resident Evil Requiem Has Convinced Me That A Resident Evil 1 Remake Would Work, As Long As It’s First-Person
Requiem is the closest Capcom has ever come to capturing the paranoia of the original Resident Evil games.
