Resident Evil Requiem launches today, and some of you are probably already playing it. By now, you must have realised that Grace and Leon have very different playstyles: Grace focused on stealth and puzzles and Leon being a zombie killer who performs unnecessary backflips. This means the former is a bit squishier than the Raccoon City veteran.
Grace neither does as much damage as Leon, nor can she take as much. Thankfully, there’s a way to boost her damage output pretty early on in the game. As spotted by PC Gamer‘s Sean Martin, killing a relatively tough enemy early on in Requiem lets Grace unlock a permanent damage buff. And it really comes in handy.
How To Improve Grace’s Damage
After the encounter with The Girl at Rhodes Hill Care Center, you’ll find yourself in the West Wing of the facility, near the kitchen. There’s a massive zombie wielding a cleaver here, who you’d ideally want to avoid. However, it holds the key to the Pantry, which houses some great loot, including a Stakeout Takeout Charm that boosts knife durability and damage.
Taking out the zombie is going to be tough, but Martin has figured out an easy way. When you return to the West Wing, the zombie will be on the lower floor. Bait him into following you to the Central Hall, where he won’t be able to fit through. This will allow you to take headshots at him when he turns around.
Ammo can be crafted with all the equipment you’ll find in the Blood Lab in the East Wing, and this is also a great time to take the Requiem shot that Leon gives you. Doing this a few times will kill the big guy, after which you can loot the Pantry Key off him. The door can be found on the ground floor of the West Wing, in the kitchen.
This will make you less reliant on streaking around, and give Grace a better chance in combat.
