In a stunning reversal from historical norms, Call of Duty has outright denied previously reported rumors that it was working on a standalone Zombies title to coincide with the release of the next generation of Xbox consoles.
In a reply shared on social media, the official Call of Duty account put to bed rumors that barely reached 24 hours of existence.

This Is The Second Major Update From The Mouths Of Call Of Duty
For what it’s worth, this is the second update of its kind that we’ve received from Call of Duty themselves. While not a refutation of future plans, Call of Duty did acknowledge the noise and poor reviews surrounding Black Ops 7.
In a statement shared online, Call of Duty affirmed its plans to no longer do back-to-back yearly releases for its Modern Warfare or Black Ops titles. In other words, you won’t see a Black Ops 6 followed by a Black Ops 7 situation ever again.
The company further asserted its desire to “drive innovation that is meaningful, not incremental.” It wouldn’t share how it plans to do so, but will when the “time is right.”
