The Drengr have their own abilities within the team, specializing in defense and debuffs for the enemy. Here are the best abilities to choose when using a Drengr in Norse: Oath Of Blood, and how best to use them on the battlefield.

The Drengr is one of the unit types in Norse: Oath Of Blood, which you can add to the group when heading into battle with Sigrid and Gunnar. If you like this fighter type, you can hire a new Drengr from any allied village that has them available.

Each allied village refreshes stock of resources and recruits every few turns. Check the Map regularly for new purchases.

The Drengr abilities are unique to the fighter type, and they can be chosen from two distinct types after ranking up: Warrior or Protector.

During a mission, each fighter gains experience and will occasionally rank up. The more they battle with an enemy unit and the more hits and kills they get, the more likely they are to rank up.

To check how successful each unit has been, add any new abilities, or change equipment, visit the Hirdmen tab and select your unit.

Abilities in the Warrior column are more strategy-based, while the Protector column focuses more on defense and armor restoration. The abilities you choose depend on how you want to play and use your fighter. However, we recommend equipping the abilities below for a balanced approach.

Glima

Using Shield Slam in Norse Oath Of Blood.

If you want to focus on strategy and careful placement of units, it could be better to choose Thor’s Roar over Second Wind. This ability is a little circumstantial and requires your Drengr to be in the perfect position for it to be the best pick. Thor’s Roar inflicts Shaken on all enemies within range, stopping them from being able to use their next turn.

At the start of the battle, the Drengr should be deployed in mid to frontline positions, supporting the frontline tanky units. He has mid health and high skill stats, so he is best suited to a support role with some protection from the warriors up front.
