Overwatch has been smashing it thanks to the rebranding and the five new characters. Not only has it overtaken Marvel Rivals in terms of player count, but it has more than doubled its own record. The game was desperately in need of a shakeup, and Blizzard managed to pull it off at the perfect time, as Marvel Rivals is going through a rough patch.
While the five new characters include one tank, two damage, and two support heroes, there’s no prizes for guessing which one of them caught the most eyeballs. Of course, the aptly named, Jetpack Cat became a favourite as soon as she was revealed. However, it seems players think she may need to be nerfed a bit.
Jetpack Cat Is Flying Too Damn High
As spotted by PC Gamer, the Overwatch subreddit is filled with players discussing that Jetpack Cat could do with some nerfs. Especially her Lifeline ability, which allows her to literally airlift other characters. It isn’t easy fighting a Damage hero when they can move like that thanks to the cat.
“The cat is gonna make the game unplayable at low levels,” said one of the comments. “When you’re at a rank where people can’t aim for shit, the fast, flying character with Omni-directional movement is gonna be borderline invincible.” Meanwhile, others are asking for a straight up nerf.
“I can go into a match telling myself to look out for cat and will still miss the prompt,” said another. “I wish it was a bit more obvious. I don’t want it to take over the screen but maybe put the text a bit higher?”

It looks like those who have Jetpack Cat in their team are absolutely having a blast, but those going against it are hoping for nerfs. Of course, all five characters are still relatively new, so the devs are probably going to make some balancing changes over the next few weeks. Until then, just hope that the flying kitty ends up on your team.
