Chaotic and comical, co-op game YapYap requires players to enter rival castles and make as much mess as possible. With multiple ways of causing havoc, from throwing pots to setting everything on fire, you and your team use magic to destroy anything you can get your little hands on.
However, your opposition isn’t going to make it easy on you, as there will be different monsters around to end your fun early. While you can run from some, others can finish you off before you even realize they’re there. Here are the best ways to survive the night in YapYap
Every Type Of Monster
Monsters in YapYap add an extra level to an already frantic gameplay loop. Some monsters chase you down and others hit-and-run, but either way, it’s good to know how and when to stay and fight.
Some contracts require you to injure monsters, so be in the know about the ones you can actually damage and the ones you can’t.
You can hide from monsters in YapYap by getting into cupboards. It won’t make the monster leave completely, but it will calm them down enough that you will have time to attack or distract.

Tips |
|---|---|---|---|
Goblins |
While the odd Goblin will run away from you, most have weapons like bombs and knives. In later levels, they often spawn in groups of three or more. |
Use Piss-Yuk to farm for points, but to attack them, the free wood wands’ attacks can easily push them away. If they throw a bomb, you can throw it back, but their threat comes when they spawn in groups. |
Guard/Knight |
These helmeted guards deal 50 damage (half your total health) per hit. They can spawn in groups but will often be found alone in earlier stages. They swing their giant sword to cause damage. |
Knocking a guard’s helmet off grants points but also disorients them. You can do this many ways, but again, the free wood wands’ attacks do it easily if aimed correctly. Then run. They aren’t good at following you, so they will lose you, and you can then attempt a stealthy workaround. However, if you want to fight them properly, knocking off their helmet and using the Wand of Fire is a good way to do it. |
Headless Guard/Knight |
These headless guards are more dangerous than their counterparts. They also use their sword to attack and can take you down in two hits. They’re also much quicker. |
Try to keep a large distance between you and the Headless Guards, but if you want to attack, then use the Wand of Fire or the Fish-Yuk spell to hurt or incapacitate them. If only to make a getaway. |
The Jester |
The Jester is one of the deadliest monsters in the game. It moves really fast, and you’ll be able to tell it’s around by its laughter. It will simply run at you and kill you. |
There is no combating The Jester. It will instantly kill you upon reaching you, so if possible, run away. If you can’t run, then it’ll be up to your team to complete the night. |
The Eye |
The floating eyeball will spawn randomly around the map, and even if it disappears, chances are it will return. It shoots a laser-type beam at you and can often be a distraction from other enemies around you. |
Firing spells at the eye will cause it to disappear and reappear elsewhere. Breaking the line of sight will also cause it to eventually disappear; furthermore, breaking the line of sight is the way to stop its damage. |
The Slime |
The large, green gelatinous cube will block your entrance or exit if able to. It does cause damage, but its biggest threat is fencing you in with deadlier monsters. |
If you can’t avoid the slime cube, a quick and easy way to destroy it is by using the spell Piss-Yuk. It will eventually explode the longer you use the spell. |
Time Ghost |
When the night comes to an end and the timer reaches zero, the Time Ghost will kill any players left on the map. |
The only way to avoid being killed by the Time Ghost is to be extracted back to your home base before the clock runs out. You cannot fight it. |
Doppelganger |
The Doppelganger will turn up on the map looking like another player. It will unhinge its jaw and scream at you, draining your health and temporarily giving you the silenced status effect so you cannot cast spells. |
If you shoot a spell at this monster, it will run away. However, when it appears with another enemy, it will stop you from casting a spell, and this is what can get you killed. Try to damage it with any spell to make it leave you alone or blast it far away with the Wand of Telekenesis. |
Mimic |
This monster can appear in numerous different forms. So far, it’s mostly been seen as a jug or a skull. It will leap at you and swallow you, damaging you for around 40-50 HP. They are fast and have a lot of HP themselves. |
If you see the mimic before it sees you, run. Or if you get a chance, and you have one, use the Wand of Telekenesis to get it far away from you and then run away. With a lot of players, you could probably kill it, but some of you will die. |
Skull Spider |
A giant, skull-headed spider that will attack on sight. It is just as dangerous as the Greater Mimic, if not more so. |
As with the previous monster, running away is the best thing to do. You can use different spells to help you do this, like Teleblast, but this should be used to give you and your teammates time to sprint away. |
Red Chair |
This is a chair that comes alive when you get close enough. It will attack you and hit you for around 30 HP damage at a time. |
The chair will leave you alone if you run away. It doesn’t seem interested in fighting you, just protecting itself. If you want to hurt it, however, fire is a good option, and using candles will do the job. |
Chicken Creature |
These creepy creatures with chicken feet don’t injure, but can be a pest. They come to you in groups and can momentarily change you into one of them. |
If a creature has a phrase over its head, it is the spell you can use to counter it. If you speak the phrase, then they will disappear. |
At the moment, making a getaway is the best option to make it through the night. Use defensive spells to blow, push, or fire enemies away from you and sprint past them. Or, hide and wait for them to calm down.

Warp Crystal Getaways
A good way to get away quickly from enemies who may be too strong (which is most at the moment) is to use a Warp Crystal to teleport yourself away from them. They spawn randomly on the maps outside on balconies. To use one, approach it and interact.
However, take note of the type. A crystal will either take you to the North, South, East, or West of the castle, and depending on where the enemies are, you may be transporting yourself straight to them.
