With the iPhone 17 lineup, Apple rolled out its first major redesign for the Pro models since the iPhone 12 Pro. The rear cameras were mounted on a wider plateau, the back had a two-tone finish, and the lineup itself came in bold new color options, among other changes. The design overhaul drew polarized reactions, but Apple is reportedly set to carry it over to the iPhone 18 Pro models.
As reported by MacRumors, the leak comes from Weibo user Fixed Focus Digital. The leaker says that Apple won’t make any major changes to the iPhone 18 Pro’s appearance since the current lineup is a major hit.
The company posted positive earnings results last week, with CEO Tim Cook noting that Apple had its “best-ever quarter driven by unprecedented demand, with all-time records across every geographic segment.”
So instead of focusing on appearance, Apple will try to improve performance on the 18 Pro models with the A20 and A20 Pro chips, the report adds. These chips are expected to be Apple’s first 2nm silicon chips and will succeed the A19 Pro processor on the current phones.
For the front of the 18 Pro, however, leakers have tipped some radical changes. According to YouTuber Jon Prosser, Apple will introduce a punch-hole design front camera and move it from the center of the screen to the top left. In another first, Apple will reportedly use under-display Face ID sensors and reduce the size of both the front-camera cutout and the Dynamic Island.
