Arc Raiders’ Headwinds update introduced a bunch of new things to the game, including a solo vs. squads mode, a trophy display project, new augments, and a lot of rubber ducks. However, as with every video game update, some things didn’t go according to plan. Players reported a drastic increase in loot reveal time, even though they had the Looter’s Luck skill.
Some players even thought that Embark secretly made the nerf, without including it in the patch notes. The devs have now revealed that the loot reveal time was accidentally increased and was not part of the original plan. An Embark dev wrote on the game’s discord channel that the team is aware of it, and it was unintentional.
Loot Reveal Time Was Accidentally Increased
If you happened to go topside just after the Arc Raiders’ Headwinds update went live, you may have noticed that loot icons were taking longer than usual to show up. Unlike other games, Arc Raiders reveals its loot one at a time to build tension and simulate searching. It seems this nerf was not part of the plan (thanks GamesRadar), as Community manager Birdie wrote, “The team is aware of this, as it’s not intended.”
This means that we’ll probably see a hotfix coming in to fix the issue pretty soon. Looting is the core tenet of Arc Raiders, and changing the rate at which loot is revealed is sure to ruffle a few feathers. The game’s subreddit already has a few posts complaining about it, but knowing that it was accidental will calm things down.

Don’t bow before the queen.
The biggest change that the update brings is the new solo vs squads mode, where raiders above level 40 will be allowed to join the squads queue to take on a numerical disadvantage. Doing so will grant them an additional 20 percent bonus XP on the completion of the round. So, if you fancy your raiding skills, this mode is for you. You might want to wait a while till the loot reveal time is fixed first, though.
