How To Change Your Mount In Highguard

How To Change Your Mount In Highguard

You’ll get very used to your mount while playing Highguard, as you’ll end up using it quite often. The maps in the game are huge, meaning you’ll need help to get from one end to the other, to run toward or away from enemies, and to grab the Swordbreaker before the enemy team.

While there are a few ways to upgrade your mount, you’ll start with one of a few options for mounts to help you traverse each map. So, what mounts are available, how do they work, and when can you get your hands on a new one? Here’s everything you need to know about mounts in Highguard.

Before you even start the match, you can choose your mount before the game begins. Prior to getting in the queue, go to the Collection menu and choose the Mount submenu.

From here, you have the Bear, Panther, and Horse available to you. Select one and click the equip button. You’ll see a check mark on your choice in the Mounts menu. When you start the game and summon a mount, this is the one that will come forth.

How To Use Mounts

Once you hop into a game, you’ll have to start by reinforcing your base and adjusting your loadout. Once that’s done, you’ll be given a few minutes to prepare before the Shieldbreaker is ready.

During this time, it’s time to mount up. To do so, just double tap the mount button, and your mount will be automatically summoned.

Use the run command to also make your mount run. You can dismiss your mount by pressing the dismiss button in the bottom right corner of the screen.

You also have a health bar and a cooldown timer for your mount. The icon in the bottom right shows how to call your mount, how to dismiss your mount, as well as its health.

If your mount is destroyed, a cooldown timer will pop up over the icon, showing how long until you can resummon it.

Throughout the game you can get Saddles. Saddles will improve your mount’s health and speed. The higher the rarity of the Saddle, the better your mount’s performance, and the more expensive the Saddle becomes to purchase.

You can find Saddles in chests throughout the map, or you can trade for them with Resource Nodes you find throughout the map. You can also purchase them from the loadout menu when you die and respawn.
