One of the most important things you need to do while playing Hytale is gather resources. After all, you need them to craft all sorts of different things. Among the resources you can pick up are petals. These aren’t just regular ones you can find everywhere. They are Blood, Azure, and Storm petals.
They sound cooler than your average flower petal, and they’re also more difficult to get your hands on. To make things easier, here is everything you need to know about acquiring them.
Since Hytale is still in early access, some of the following information may change.
The maps in this guide don’t show the exact location of the item, since it varies for everyone. They’re there to give you an idea of the sort of area you need to search in.
How To Get Blood Petals
You can get Blood Petals from Bloodcap Mushrooms, Blood Leaves, and Blood Roses. So, if you see anything with the word blood in its name, it’s probably what you’re looking for.
You have to hit them to make them drop petals. If you hit the prompt on screen, you will pick up the whole thing instead of the petals.
Here is where to find all of those things:

Where To Find It |
|---|---|---|
|
Bloodcap Mushroom |
|
You can find them in the Emerald Grove Zone, within the red forests. They’re on the ground, typically near glowing mushrooms. |
|
Blood Leaf |
|
Blood Leaves often grow in the dark green forests of the Emerald Grove Zone. They’ve also been known to spawn in the Whisperfrost Frontiers and Howling Sands Zones. |
|
Blood Rose |
|
You can find Blood Roses in the yellowy-green areas between the Emerald Grove and Winterfrost Frontier Zones. The place is known as the Frostmarch Tundra biome. |

How To Get Azure Petals
Azure petals can be picked up from Azure Kelp, Azurecap Mushroom, and Azure Fern.
When you find these things, you need to bash them to get the petals they drop. Don’t press ‘F’ instead.
This is where you can find the things that drop Azure petals:
|
Item |
What It Looks Like |
Where To Find It |
|---|---|---|
|
Azure Kelp |
|
You can find it within the Blue Forests on the map. These are Azure Forests. In them are sometimes a few bodies of water. The Kelp can be found in the water. |
|
Azurecap Mushroom |
|
The Azurecap Mushroom can be found in the Emerald Grove Zone, typically among green or red forests. |
|
Azure Fern |
|
The hard-to-find Azure Fern spawns in water within the Howling Sands Zone. So, look at bodies of water in the desert. |
How To Get Storm Petals
You can get Storm Petals from Storm Saplings, Storm Thistle, and Stormcap Mushrooms.
Like with the others, you have to hit these things to get them to turn into petals.
Before you can do that, though, you need to locate them. They’re in the following places:
|
Item |
What It Looks Like |
Where To Find It |
|---|---|---|
|
Storm Saplings |
|
There are generally some Storm Saplings in the Howling Sands Zone, particularly up high. |
|
Storm Thistle |
|
At the edge of the Emerald Grove and the Howling Sands Zones, you can often find Storm Thistle. |
|
Stormcap Mushrooms |
|
Stormcap Mushrooms can be found in the Howling Sands Zone or on the edges of it. |
Uses Of Blood, Azure And Storm Petals
The main reason to acquire all these petals is that they’re used to make potions.
Blood Petals are needed for health potions, Azure Petals are required for energy potions, and Storm Petals are used in stamina potions.
You can make all of these potions at the Alchemist’s Workbench with the following recipes:
