It’s a tiny bit too late to still be saying the phrase “new year”, but who are we to judge Sony and the PS Store?
Its latest sale is named New Year Deals, and it’s another offer stacked with thousands of discounted games and add-ons for PS5 and PS4. It runs from now until 4th February 2026.
To make browsing the sale a little easier, we’ve put together a list of recommendations that we think are worth checking out.
Every game listed here has at least a 7/10 on Push Square, and is at its lowest price point — some are lower now than ever before.

Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition is a wonderful example of modernising a classic game, providing new quality of life features and a fresh coat of paint while retaining its original feel. For hardcore RTS fans who are itching to pick something new up this is a must buy, and an adaptable AI difficulty level means there’s something for everyone.

Anger Foot is an aggressive action game that feels like a sort of first-person Hotline Miami. This rapid-paced experience is all about kicking down doors and destroying groups of enemies in quick succession, using your feet and all manner of weaponry at your disposal. With colourful visuals and a pulse-pounding soundtrack, this comes recommended for anyone looking for some violent, high-speed thrills.

A true cult classic, Beyond Good & Evil: 20th Anniversary Edition is a lovely remaster of a PS2 favourite. Playing as freedom fighter Jade, this unique sci-fi adventure has you exploring a weird and wonderful world through the lens of her camera. The remaster brings the visuals up to date and throws in some quality-of-life improvements, but the main reason to play this is for the great story and characters, which remain fresh and charming to this day.

Braid is undoubtedly a classic that revolutionized the indie game landscape, and it still has enough unique ideas to make it worth a playthrough for the first time today. Whether or not the Anniversary Edition is worth it, however, will largely depend on your experience with the original. For newcomers, the enhanced graphics and extra levels make this the definitive edition, and worthy of a purchase. Similarly, up-and-coming game developers will find lots of love and advice poured into the game’s comprehensive commentary system.

Crash Bandicoot is one of PlayStation’s most iconic platforming heroes, and now that he’s double-jumped onto PS5, there’s no excuse for skipping Crash Bandicoot: It’s About Time. This sequel stays true to the series’ origins, but it’s bursting with brand new ideas and jaw-dropping set-piece moments. Running at a flawless 60 frames-per-second in sparkling 4K resolution — and cutting those load times to almost nothing — this release is at its absolute best on Sony’s next-gen console.

Crisis Core remains as cheesy and cringy as ever on PS5, but it’s a much more approachable game now thanks to this largely fantastic remaster from Square Enix. With a refined combat system and gameplay mechanics, alongside much-updated visuals, the Final Fantasy VII prequel is well worth playing if you’re a fan of the series-within-a-series. Just try not to take the storytelling too seriously!

Cult of the Lamb is an ingenious blend of rogue-lite action and life sim that’s devilishly addictive. Indebted to an imprisoned, malevolent god, you spend half the game vanquishing foes, gathering resources, and rescuing animals. Then, things flip, and your time turns to building up a cult with various buildings and structures. There’s an element of strategy to this half of the game, but it’s generally pretty breezy, while the action is nice and snappy. Both sides of Cult of the Lamb feed wonderfully into each other, and combined with the cute cartoon visuals, it’s an incredibly fun, dangerously moreish treat.

Days Gone Remastered changes Bend Studio’s underappreciated open world in more ways than you’d expect. With a new lighting engine, the tension is significantly amplified, while the new Horde Assault mode allows you to focus on the release’s most enjoyable moments: those white-knuckle face-offs against hundreds upon hundreds of Freakers.

Evil West is one of those really enjoyable 7/10s. It’s never going to win any awards and it’s probably not going to stick long in the memory, but give it a few years and someone, somewhere, will swear to you that it’s actually an underappreciated classic. It’s a chunky action game that knows how to have fun, both in and out of combat.

F.I.S.T.: Forged in Shadow Torch might be a pain to type, but the game itself is a great Metroidvania. You play as a rabbit with an enormous robotic arm in a cyberpunk-like world inhabited by anthropomorphic animals. Off to rescue a friend, the freedom fighter finds himself caught up in all kinds of mess, and it’ll be down to you to fight through it. Engaging combat is at the heart of the game, but you’re also rewarded for exploring the world, and the story is kept interesting by some great characters.

A true, unmistakable classic, Final Fantasy VI set the bar for the series going forward. It was, of course, followed by the staggering success of Final Fantasy VII, but even today, VI remains an example of Final Fantasy at its absolute best. Its characters are still brilliant, its storytelling is still masterful, and from a gameplay perspective, there’s so much to admire. While VI isn’t as strongly associated with PlayStation as its successors, it’ll always demand respect.

Forgotton Anne is a truly memorable and unique adventure title. Set in a land where forgotten objects become sentient beings, this is a cinematic puzzle platformer with wonderful animation that’ll sweep you away into a magical world.
