By the time you reach Calderon in MIO: Memories In Orbit, the Vessel has made one thing very clear: subtlety is not on the menu. This fight shifts the scale dramatically as it drops you into an arena dominated by attacks that demand your full attention. Calderon is not interested in flashy aggression.
Instead, this encounter asks you to slow down and stay mentally locked in. It is less about squeezing in every hit and more about surviving the rhythm of the battle without losing focus. If earlier bosses taught you how to move, Calderon teaches you how to stay disciplined when everything on screen wants you to panic.
How To Defeat Calderon
To reach Calderon, start from the City Gates checkpoint and head right past the door. From there, parkour upward using the Hairpin grabbers and flowers, then head left across the rooftops. Continue past the first bridge, through the room beyond it, and cross another bridge before dropping downward into a broken section. Keep moving all the way left until you reach a room with a hole in the floor, then drop down to enter Calderon’s arena.
Calderon is a large-scale boss that emphasizes pattern recognition and careful use of your newly-acquired dodge move. The fight revolves around watching his massive hands closely and knowing when to disengage instead of greedily pushing damage.
Calderon’s hands glow red and rise above his head when he’s about to use them to attack.

Calderon Move |
What It Does |
How To Avoid It |
|---|---|---|
|
Sequential Hand Punches |
Four giant hands swing down one after another, each targeting your current position in sequence. |
Use your dodge move to avoid damage while continuing to attack Calderon’s head. You can also simply walk left or right, as steady movement is often enough to avoid the punches. |
|
Paired Hand Punches |
The two middle hands slam down at the same time, followed by the two outer hands punching together. |
Dodge through the impact zones and resume attacking the head once the sequence finishes. |
|
Lower Hands Fist Punch |
The bottom two hands come together to form a single downward punch. |
You can dodge through it, but jumping upward over the hands is often the more reliable option. |
|
Full Hand Slam |
All four hands come together to deliver one powerful downward punch. |
Use your dodge move to safely avoid the impact, then continue attacking. |
|
Falling Icicles |
Icicles fall from above in spread-out patterns. |
These are easy to avoid as long as you stay aware of them. Do not tunnel vision on attacking the head and let falling icicles catch you off guard. |
Calderon heavily rewards smart dodge usage, but keep in mind that the dodge ability has roughly a one-second cooldown and cannot be spammed.
Calderon’s targeting attacks homes in on your position, and walking calmly away can be more consistent than a panicked dodge attempt, so keep that in mind. Take breaks from attacking if needed, as overcommitting can lead to self-inflicted damage.
Lock in and focus on reading his hands rather than rushing damage.
During the second phase, air currents lift you into the air. His attack patterns remain the same, so continue using the same avoidance strategies as before. The main difference is that falling icicles now also rise back upward, and your movement is a hair slower.
To defeat Calderon, prioritize awareness over speed. By pacing your attacks, respecting the dodge cooldown, and keeping your attention on hand patterns, you can do it!
