Christmas Day is in the rearview mirror for another year, and if you’re reading this instead of playing all the cool new games you received, I can assume one of two things. Either you didn’t get the games you wanted, or you were showered with PlayStation gift cards that are already burning a hole in your festive pocket.
If it’s either or both of those things, or you simply want to buy some new games for less, you’ve come to the right place. It might still be December for a few more days, but the PlayStation Store’s January sale is already in full swing. More than 3,500 games have had their prices cut to mark the occasion, so there’s almost certainly something in there for you, for less.
Buy Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, You’re The Only One Left Who Still Hasn’t Played It
Let’s get the big one out of the way first because if you haven’t played this, then your 2025 remains incomplete – Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. The Game of the Year, and probably the game everyone in your life has been nagging you to play for months. Well, time to cash in while it’s on sale. Down to $39.99 from now until January 8, 2026, I cannot stress to you enough the quality of the game you’re getting for that price.
A couple of the frontrunners that were competing with Expedition 33 for 2025’s Game of the Year crown are also discounted in PlayStation’s end of 2025/start of 2026 sale. Hollow Knight: Silksong, which is only $20 when full price, is down to just $15.99 for a limited time. The far more expensive Death Stranding 2, the biggest game of the three mentioned so far by quite some way in terms of size, is also on sale, its $70 price tag switched out for a $49.69 one.

Discounted Xbox Games On Your PS5, What A Time To Be Alive
Xbox had a big year on PlayStation in 2025, and it looks set to continue that trend in 2026 (Halo on PS5, anyone?). One of the most popular exclusives it ported to its arch nemesis’s platform was Forza Horizon 5. Selling like gangbusters for the first few months after it released on PS5, if you missed the boat at launch, you can now pick it up for $35.99, a 40 percent discount on its usual price.
Less surprising was the release of the Xbox-published Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 on PS5 since the series’ multi-platform status was never in doubt. CoD doesn’t seem to be quite as hot as it once was, but you can help bump its numbers by grabbing the latest entry in the series for $48.99. Or you can help its direct competitor by picking up the Phantom Edition of Battlefield 6, which is also included in the PS Store sale.
As noted above, there are more than 3,500 games in this latest PlayStation Store sale, so the games mentioned above are truly just the tip of the iceberg. You can also get Arc Raiders, Borderlands 4, and Ready or Not, which finally launched on consoles and pulled in millions more players, for less if you buy them before the sale ends on January 8, 2026.
