If you’ve been keeping up with your Side Missions, then you probably know that the Pokemon Legends: Z-A Mega Dimension DLC added about a hundred more of them that unlock periodically as you complete Main Missions. That said, if you haven’t been keeping up with them, then you may not know that there’s a secret 200th Side Mission that only unlocks after the other 199 are completed.
Once you’ve finished every other Side Mission in the game, go back to Hotel Z, and you’ll get a call from either Taunie or Urbain. They’re at Quasartico Inc. and need you to look for a password they’ve written down in their room. So go on and head up to their hotel room to get started.
Side Mission 200: Here In Lumiose City
Once you get to Taunie or Urbain’s room, you should be able to find the password they were asking about in a stack of files on their bed. You’ll need to memorize it because they’ll ask for it, and you’ll have multiple-choice options to choose from. Once you’ve provided them with the password, head back downstairs to the lobby, and they’ll show up with Jett.
After speaking with your rival and Jett, your rival will ask you for one last battle in front of the hotel. If you’re ready, you can head out to battle them. However, you may want to do a little bit of prep before you jump into this final rival battle. Beyond just the normal prep stuff like stocking up on healing items, you’re also going to want to ensure your entire team is maxed out.
While any healing item is great to have on hand, you should prioritize Max Revives and Full Restores/Max Potions.
You could, in theory, beat your rival with under-leveled Pokemon, but it’s going to be far more difficult since their entire team will be level 100, making them one of the strongest rival fights Pokemon games have ever had. If you’ve been using your team for most of the DLC, this shouldn’t be a problem. However, if it is, you can accrue EXP Candy fairly easily in Hyperspace Distortions to bring them up to max.
Once your entire team is maxed out, you’re going to want to ensure you have good coverage. Your rival’s team will be dependent on a few things, namely, whether you chose the male or female character at the start of the game and what starter you chose. For a breakdown on their whole team, please see the table below:

While most of the battles you’ve had in Pokemon Legends: Z-A involve your opponent Mega Evolving a single Pokemon, your rival will Mega Evolve all of their Pokemon that are able, if given the chance. Additionally, while most opponents wouldn’t normally swap out their Pokemon, your rival will for this fight. All that’s to say that this will be the most complex trainer battle you’ve had all game.
As far as how to beat them, it’s not recommended that you customize an entire team just for this fight. More than likely, if you’ve made it to this fight, then you probably have a well-rounded team you’ve been using for most of the game, and that’s what you should stick with. Just swap out your Pokemon to give yourself the best type advantage, but again, there’s a chance they’ll follow with a swap too.
While you don’t need to change your entire team for the rival battle, you should try to have at least three to four Mega Evolutions on your team, if you don’t already.
Aside from all of that, just approach this like you have every other trainer battle and stay on your toes. It may take a couple of tries, but you should be able to defeat your rival as long as you stay on top of heals and strategize your matchups. You should also Mega Evolve as often as you can.
Once you defeat your rival, they’ll invite you up to the roof for a chat where you’ll get the opportunity to reminisce about your journey through Pokemon Legends: Z-A and the Mega Dimension DLC, which some consider to be the true ending of the game.
