Original Sin 2 Star Calls New Divinity Trailer “Creepy And Delicious”

Larian Studios understood the assignment at The Game Awards. Its hyper-graphic, super-freaky trailer for the next Divinity game got audiences talking, comfortably racked up the most views of any trailer from the event, and had its creators promising that the game “isn’t trying to shock” people. It felt like the perfect introduction to a game.

What followed was a bit of a s**tstorm, with Larian’s admission that it uses generative AI upsetting audiences, and further reports surfacing about lengthy unpaid writing tests for potential employees, forcing the company to host an AMA in the new year.

While many of the concerns will hopefully be answered in the upcoming Q&A, and therefore swiftly forgotten, one thing that will live on is the trailer. Recently, we sat down with one of Divinity: Original Sin 2’s stars and asked them for their take on the teaser, and they couldn’t have been more excited, calling it “Really creepy and delicious”.

Divinity Original Sin 2’s Sebille Really Loved The Recent Game Awards Reveal

Alix Wilton Regan has played a lot of characters over the years. She’s starred in hit games like Cyberpunk 2077 and Dragon Age: Inquisition, and will be stepping into the shoes of Lara Croft in the upcoming Tomb Raider reimagining. She also played Sebille in Larian’s 2016 hit Divinity: Original Sin 2.

The freaky character would seemingly be right at home in the upcoming Divinity, so we had to ask Wilton Regan what she thought of the trailer.

The Price Of RAM Is Forcing Larian To Do Optimization It “Didn’t Necessarily Want To Do” On Divinity

“We’ve never had it like this…”

“I really dug it,” she said. “It felt like a kind of spin on the really famous film, The Wicker Man. I love kind of folk horror. And I think that trailer is just really creepy and delicious. And I am super excited to see what they do with the project.”

I then asked Wilton Regan if she’d be lending her voice to the project, and while she told me, “I haven’t been approached by Larian yet,” her wry smile told me she would be more than down.
