Megabonk treated all players to a megaspooky update as the year draws to a close. This update brought a new graveyard map, weapons, enemies and bosses, more achievements to add to your list, and a fabulously new spooky character, Roberto.
Roberto, decked out in his best white sheet and coolest sunglasses, may not be the strongest character to start off, but with the right build, he may just be your next favorite hero. Here is everything you need to know about Roberto, and the best build for this ghostly guy.
How To Unlock Roberto
If you haven’t unlocked Roberto yet due to how tricky it can be, there are some tips for doing so. To unlock Roberto, you have to beat Spooky Steve and buy the Scythe weapon, obtained by killing Big Bob in the Graveyard map.
Beating Spooky Steve seems impossible due to his trillions of HP, but if you use the right weapons and tomes, you are in with a chance. Equip the following weapons and tomes with any character you feel strongest using before attempting to enter the Graveyard and beating Spooky Steve:
- Aura — an area of effect weapon that damages enemies around you.
- Frost Walker — an area of effect weapon that freezes and damages enemies.
- Dexecutioner — a massive blade with a small chance to instantly kill any enemy it hits.
- Black Hole — creates a black hole to pull enemies in and keep them away from you.
As far as tomes go, you will want to focus on leveling up and increasing attack speed. This will help you increase the power of your Aura and increase the likelihood of your Dexecutioner hits dealing massive damage. Battle through the Graveyard and level up as much as possible, preferably between 80 and 90, collecting the keys to get back into the crypt to face Steve.
From then on, you should be able to take out Spooky Steve with your weapons and power level at this stage.
It may take a few tries to get it just right, but this is one of the toughest characters to unlock in Megabonk!
