Just when you thought Fortnite ran out of IP collaborations, the part live-service battle royale, part Metaverse, turns around and reveals that SpongeBob SquarePants is coming to Epic Games‘ never-ending world of mischief and mayhem.
Over in the Fortnite item shop, there are a number of SpongeBob-themed things available, including SpongeBob himself, though only as a Sidekick, meaning you won’t be able to blast everyone away and giggle afterward.
There’s SpongeBob himself, a DoodleBob back bling, Kicks with Gary on them, a Golden Spatula Pickaxe, and even more importantly, the iconic Jellyfish Jam dance is available, too.
If that wasn’t enough, then you can also purchase Sweet Victory for Fortnite Jam. And if you’re short on instruments, then there’s the iconic glittered Goofy Goober guitar available to pair with Sweet Victory.
Basically, it’s a SpongeBob fan’s dream come true. Except, we certainly hope that you have a better job than working at the Krusty Krab to afford all this, because, boy, is it expensive.
Fortnite Has Once Again Proven Why It Is The Future Of Video Games
Epic Games has delivered one of Fortnite’s best live events yet with the fantastic Zero Hour.

To start, the SpongeBob SquarePants bundle, which has SpongeBob himself, plus Sweet Victory, both pairs of Kicks (SpongeBob and Gary), both emotes, the DoodleBob Backbling, Golden Spatula Pickaxe, Goofy Goober Guitar and matching drumset is going to set you back a whopping 3,000 V-Bucks.
What it doesn’t come with is the Patrick-themed Crocs, which are 1,000 V-Bucks, or the Squidward-themed Crocs, which also run for the same amount of digital currency. It also doesn’t come with Patty Wagon, the iconic vehicle from SpongeBob lore that will run you another 2,000 V-Bucks.
Our math skills are extremely rusty at the moment, but if you add all that up, it’s 7,000 V-Bucks for everything. Or, and this is a big or, 7,700 if you want the matching boost or trail.
That’s a lot, especially considering SpongeBob isn’t a skin, or the other members of Bikini Bottom aren’t part of it.
“What a time to be alive,” one person wrote on Reddit. “Prices are absurd, of course, so I’m not getting any of it, but, hey, the shop preview is all I needed for this.”
