Lords of the Fallen 2 developer CI Games has definitely had some takes in the past, which have proven to be controversial on social media. Back in January, global marketing director Ryan Hill claimed that the game wouldn’t “embed social or political agendas” in its story, claiming that doing so would affect sales, while the studio was also more recently bullied online for claiming that it was “carrying the torch” for soulslikes. To put it simply, it’s not a stranger to backlash.

It’s possible that this reputation has enabled others at CI Games to speak out about “political agendas” and the likes, as CI Games CEO Marek Tyminski has now joined Hill in claiming that Lords of the Fallen won’t be “politically correct”, and that the reason the first game had a “Body Type A/B” option was because “political correctness and filtering meant not every decision reached me on time.”

Tyminski says that since he’s become Head of Studio alongside his role as CEO, things are very different, and says that ever since 2020, CI Games has “reverted a lot of wrong decisions and will continue improving.”

The most successful FromSoftware game is also its queerest.

I guess in some way to prove this, Tyminski starts responding to fans of the studio underneath his tweet, first saying that a fan was “correct” for saying that “a game is meant to be fun… not politically correct.” Elsewhere, he seems to confirm that Lords of the Fallen 2 will have “attractive female characters” complete with “revealing outfits and armor.” He doesn’t mention whether these characters will be NPCs or the player themselves, but they’ll be in there nonetheless. In any case, right now, we’re still waiting for a proper release date for Lords of the Fallen 2, which did show up at The Game Awards with an edited gameplay trailer. It’s still penciled in for 2026 at the moment, though it doesn’t look like a specific release date is anywhere close to dropping at the moment.
