TV shows take too long to make now. That is hardly a controversial statement. I mean, we’ve all seen the jokes about how old the cast of Stranger Things would look in the finale. That has finally rolled around now, but it’s taken so long that the cast – who were all kids when the show started – are now adults. And don’t even get me started on Euphoria.
This hasn’t escaped the notice of the crew behind the Fallout show, who know that we’re being left waiting far too long between seasons. To remedy this, they are hoping to get new seasons out as soon as possible, and plan to have filming for season three kick off next summer.
The Creators Of The Fallout Show Don’t Want To Keep Us Waiting For Season 3
This comes from an interview with IGN, in which executive producer, creator, and showrunner, Geneva Robertson-Dworet, and executive producer, Jonathan Nolan, go over what we can expect from the Fallout show in the future.
With regards to production, we’re hoping to be shooting again next summer,” says Nolan. “We’ll see if that all comes together. Best late plans and all.”
Even if this doesn’t pan out, he knows that television production needs to pick up the pace. “I think what’s happened with television in terms of taking longer and longer from season to season is an unfortunate trend,” he continues. “So, you don’t want [the show] to lose any of its scope, but we know that we’d like to be back on the air as soon as we can.”
It Sounds Like Fallout Season 2 Hasn’t Picked A Canon New Vegas Ending Because No One Really Won
Fans expected Fallout: New Vegas’ Mr. House ending to be made canon in the show, but it sounds like none of them will be.
If filming does start in the summer, that gives us a rough idea of when the show will be with us. Filming for season two started in November of last year, and a little over a year later, we’re just days away from the premiere. There is a chance that everything that’s been built will speed things along, but even assuming it takes just as long as the last season, we’re looking at a release in summer 2027. Hopefully, it will be a little faster than that.
Season 2 of Fallout kicks off on December 17. The season will run for eight episodes, released on a weekly schedule.
