It’s that time of year again. We have The Game Awards on the horizon, and everyone is trying to guess what big exciting announcements are going to be there, despite the show’s continued attempts to pretend that it actually cares about its own awards. This year, things have heated up a little further thanks to almost constant Half-Life 3 rumors and a big statue in the desert, and it feels like almost anything could pop up this year as an unexpected surprise.
However, there is one franchise out there that not many people have thought about being a potential candidate — Star Wars. We know that there are a bunch of Star Wars games in development right now, all of which are in very different stages of development, and one fairly reliable insider is now hinting that a “big” Star Wars game announcement is about to take place very soon.
Star Wars Is Reportedly Getting A Big Game Announcement Soon
This little tease comes from notable Twitter insider Kurakasis, who goes on to claim that this Star Wars announcement that they’re teasing has nothing to do with either Star Wars: Zero Company, or Star Wars Eclipse. Those are two relatively minor Star Wars games when it comes to the big picture, so the real question is what exactly could be announced.
With two games already ruled out, that leaves us with a few possible suspects. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake has been MIA for quite a while now, ever since it was first announced all the way back in 2021, and there have been various reports about troubled development. It’s apparently still in development though, and it would be a pretty massive announcement for The Game Awards.

Secondly, we know that Star Wars: Zero Company isn’t the only Star Wars game that Respawn is working on right now. Earlier this year, Respawn stated that it was working on “the next chapter of the Star Wars Jedi series” and while it’s only been a little over two years since Survivor, we could get an official teaser trailer as outright confirmation that the game is coming.
Finally, we have Skydance’s big Star Wars title that’s currently in development, led by Uncharted director and writer Amy Hennig. That’s probably the title that we know the least about right now, though with Skydance currently hard at work on Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra, it feels unlikely that they’d show off another big project so soon.
Whatever this big Star Wars announcement is going to be, it feels pretty likely that it’s going to be at The Game Awards next week, given that the show is in just over a week’s time. Who knows, maybe the big statue in the desert that everyone has been raving about is Star Wars related — it’s as good a guess as anyone else has at the moment.
